Experience
Garth brings several years of administrative experience in higher education administration. He has served in numerous leadership roles including Associate Vice Chancellor of Student Services, Vice President of Student Development, Dean of Student Development, Director of Student Life, and subsequently Director of Student Engagement and Leadership. He has extensive experience in community outreach efforts including critical programs like the W.E.B Dubois Academy, Blackwell Institute, Sigma Beta Club mentorship program, Young Men and Young Women in transition, and Race 2 Equity Conferences. He has been recognized by Leadership North Houston as one of the most distinguished representatives for his leadership in community outreach. He led the charge for the Family Time Crisis and Counseling Center in Houston Texas to reorganize and develop a sustainable food donation intake system as well as executing a major landscaping facelift for the facility to enhance the lives of the residence who had been victimized by domestic and sexual violence. Garth has worked with the Hispanic Institute for Males (HIM) and African American Institute for Males (AAIM), teaching young men ages 13-15 through active and intense programing to develop critical life skills and to expose our youths to the concept that “learning is cool”.

Education
Garth holds an MBA from Baker College in Auburn Hills, Michigan and a Bachelors of Arts in Communication from St. Mary’s College, Orchard Lake, Michigan where he excelled as a four-year athletic scholar earning him both academic and athletic All-American honors. He has an outstanding reputation of being a very energetic professional who is student centered and very passionate about what he calls “super serving students.” He states, “I love the academy because here we are all educators and we contribute in our own unique way to the student’s personal and educational experience and journey.”
